Perceptions of children and community members on orphans:
In this paper, Foster et al find that orphan concerns included feeling
different from other children, stress, stigmatization, exploitation,
schooling, lack of visits and neglect of support responsibilities
by relatives.
Strategies for providing care and support to children orphaned
by AIDS:This brief review of strategies suggests that
orphan community based care care is cheaper and more effective
than institutions notes the key elements of such programmes.
Education - An Antidote for the Spread of HIV/AIDS:
Because there is no universally accepted curative drug for the
treatment of the epidemic, this report describes an attempt at
providing education as a preventive method for the spread of the
deadly disease.
