Montessori Philosophy

HAMC will employ the Montessori Philosophy and Practice because it is scientifically deduced and will allow us to continuously add to our knowledge base as we observe more of how children learn. The manner in which the individual child is respected and allowed to unfold within an interdependent world covers a multitude of areas that we believe provide a holistic education. The summaries of short essays to follow cover what we believe are essentials of the philosophy and why it is appealing to us. In our situation, the Montessori is also ideal as it has a comprehensive peace curriculum which we believe is much needed in this province ravished by HIV/AIDS. A number of Montessori Educators and other Education Practitioners not necessarily trained in Montessori have signed up to partner with HAMC to help in various capacities including training of the teachers, provision of materials and consulting on many other issues.
